REPLACE MISSING TEETH WITH DENTAL IMPLANTS IN DOWNTOWN TORONTO

Bridges, partials, and complete dentures are among the options available to replace a lost tooth when no new tooth grows in its place. At Baptista Dentistry in downtown Toronto, we offer dental implants to our patients to replace the presence of their natural teeth even more closely.

As long as you have enough bone in your jaw and are in good health, dental implants are an ideal option to replace your tooth functionally and aesthetically. If your bone or soft tissue is inadequate, augmentation may be possible through bone or gum grafting.

The basic idea behind a dental implant is to put a dental implant in place of the missing tooth, then restore it with a dental implant crown. However, you can also use dental implants to support bridges, removable dentures, or an entire full arch of missing teeth (Read more about All-on-X).

Benefits of dental implants

  • Maintain the integrity of bone structure after tooth loss
  • Distribute bite forces evenly throughout the mouth
  • Improve speaking ability
  • Improve facial appearance by preventing bone loss

Anyone with missing teeth in Toronto and surrounding areas can benefit from a dental implant treatment. Contact our dentist office today to book your dental implant consultation.

DENTAL IMPLANTS PROCEDURES

Before proceeding with any dental implant work, we will evaluate your medical history and oral health to determine your eligibility, as each patient has unique implant needs. During this evaluation, we will also take x-rays of your teeth, jaw, and head to confirm your physical eligibility.

If you are deemed a suitable candidate, a dental implant can be placed into your jawbone beneath the gum tissue and the gum will be delicately stitched it back in place. As it heals, the implant will bond with the bone. After the biological structures have fully healed, an abutment will be attached to the implant to connect to the replacement tooth which will carefully be matched in size and colour to the surrounding teeth to ensure a natural appearance.

The replacement tooth can take the form of a implant-supported crown, bridge or denture. In many cases, we are planning and designing implant therapies using digital technology like CBCT scans, intraoral imaging, and digital design software.

WHY CHOOSE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

When choosing between implants, bridges, or dentures, there are a few advantages to consider. Here are a couple to think about when making a decision:

No alteration to other teeth – No adjacent teeth require preparation to support new teeth.

No embarrassing moves – Implants are a secure dental fixture that doesn’t slip or shift, unlike dentures.

Confidence is key – Feeling more confident when eating or talking

During your discussion with our Downtown Toronto dentist regarding dental implants versus other tooth replacement options, you will discover that implants may be the most suitable option for you. Once your final implant restoration is inserted and you maintain a healthy dental routine, you won’t have to worry about the loss of a dental bridge occurring if you are typically prone to cavities. Dental implants are also more likely to remain fixed in place, preventing any embarrassing slips or costly replacements of dentures due to damage or loss. Regardless of which option you choose, it would still be important to visit the dentist regularly to maintain your dental implants, bridges, or dentures.
