Intraoral Cameras

We are fully equipped with intraoral cameras for patient education, as we pride ourselves on the quality of our work and want to ensure you are well informed about your dental health.

What are intraoral cameras? What are intraoral cameras? Intraoral cameras are extremely useful instruments in modern dentistry, providing a close-up and detailed image of the oral cavity. These small, high-tech cameras are designed to record images of the inside of the mouth, allowing dentists and patients to gain a better understanding of dental issues and make more educated treatment decisions.

Intraoral 3D Scanners

Our dental clinic is equipped with oral 3D scanners, which are cutting-edge devices that have revolutionized the field of dentistry, offering a non-invasive and highly accurate way to capture three-dimensional images of the oral structures. These advanced scanners have become integral tools in our various dental applications, providing numerous benefits for both our dental practitioners and patients. We have two intraoral scanners: the Itero 5D Element and our Dentsply Sirona Primescan, which both provide a non-invasive and highly accurate way to capture three-dimensional images of the oral structures in lieu of physical impressions.

Itero 5D Element Scanner ®

Using the Itero 5D Element at your initial visit and at regular maintenance appointments, we can perform a time-lapse analysis to identify changes in your dentition and take prompt action if needed. The Itero has NIRI (near infrared technology), going beyond what the eye can see. There is no additional cost for DENTAL WELLNESS SCANS as we feel that it is an important component of our detailed monitoring and care for you. We also utilize the Itero 5D element for all our Invisalign clear aligner therapy, so we can collect accurate imaging of your teeth and develop your orthodontic plan.

CEREC Primescan, Primemill & Speedfire ®

The CEREC Primescan is the fastest and newest intraoral scanner from Dentsply Sirona and is available to all our new and existing patients at our dental clinic. Coupled with the Primemill and Speedfire, we can create, design, and fit your custom restoration in our Downtown Toronto office in just one day. CEREC technology allows patients to receive dental restorations, like crowns or veneers, in the most convenient way possible in only about 2 hours. CEREC (“Chairside Economical Restoration of Aesthetic Ceramic”) is one of the most significant innovations in digital dentistry. The CEREC system uses computer-aided design and manufacturing to capture the highest level of precision and is one of the most significant innovations in digital dentistry. Say goodbye to the need for temporary restorations, additional injections, and multiple visits.

In our clinic, during a routine dental examination, Dr. Suzanne Baptista visually inspects the oral cavity, including the lips, tongue, gums, cheeks, and the roof and floor of the mouth. She looks for any abnormalities, such as lumps, sores, or changes in colour or texture.

Digital Radiography

You will be pleased to know that our office is equipped with the latest digital technology, which allows us to take X-rays electronically, reducing radiation exposure by up to 50–80% compared to conventional X-ray film.
